Graduate of Newcastle upon Tyne Medical School, and trained in Newcastle based Registrar rotation and London, Ontario, Canada, sub- specialising in Hip and Knee surgery.

I have particular interest in hip and knee joint replacement and revision (re-do joint replacement) surgery, knee and hip arthroscopy and arthroscopic hip impingement surgery.

I perform approximately 200 primary hip and knee replacements, 50 revision joint replacements and 60 hip arthroscopies each year.

I organise Royal College of Surgeons Hip and Knee Replacement courses, and have taught recently in the UK, Germany, Ireland and Italy on the subject of joint replacement. I am currently an examiner for the FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedics) examination.

Current member of the British Hip Society.

Recent research interests include day-case hip and knee replacement surgery, techniques in revision hip surgery and results of hip arthroscopy.
